Breaking: Cinemas, Gyms, Spas To Reopen in Lagos From Sunday

The Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has approved the full reopening of cinemas, spas and gym centres across the State from Sunday, September 20. This development is coming after six months of inactivity caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The approval comes three days after Cinema Exhibitors Association of Nigeria (CEAN) in Lagos State and some Nollywood practitioners appealed to the Governor to reopen theatres and other entertainment centers.

The reopening of the centres was announced on Saturday, September 19, 2020, on Twitter by Gboyega Akosile, the Chief Press Secretary to the state governor.

He however stated that these entertainment centres must operate strictly at 33 per cent of capacity and must obtain necessary certification from Lagos State Safety Commission.
