Diana Modeme, David Odiase and Abdullahi Dahiru Win a total of N2m prize money in the GoNigeria 1st Quarter Digital Poetry Challenge
In line with the GoNigeria Initiative’s drive to mobilize Nigerian youths to be proactive and participate in the electoral process by registering to get their Permanent Voters’ Cards [PVCs] in preparation for the forthcoming 2023 elections, GoNigeria has rewarded the first set of winners in the GoNigeria Digital Poetry Challenge with prize money totalling Two Million Naira.
Diana Modeme, from Anambra State, won the Star prize of One Million Naira for the Best entry; David Odiase (78thpsalmist) won the second prize of Six Hundred Thousand Naira while Abdullahi Idi Dahiru from Borno State won the third prize of Four Hundred Thousand Naira respectively in the first phase of the GoNigeria Digital Poetry Challenge.
The 1st Quarter GoNigeria Digital Poetry Challenge was flagged off on 17 March, 2022 to Nigerian youths aged 18 to 45 years old in commemoration of the World Poetry Day 2022 which is marked annually on 21 March. The participants were required to create a 30 seconds poetry video while holding their Permanent Voters’ Cards and also encouraging other youths to go register and pick up their voters’ cards, as well as PLAY with the acronym PVC in the video, then post same using the hashtag #GoNigeriaPoetryChallenge.
GoNigeria is an initiative of Anap Foundation, a non-profit organisation that is committed to promoting good governance. Via its GoNigeria Initiative, Anap Foundation has been partnering with Advocates, as well as enlightened celebrities (GoAmbassadors), and corporate bodies eager to support the initiative via co-branding (GoPartners) as well as many enthusiastic young volunteers who help to amplify the messaging to their age mates (GoVolunteers). The overall aim is to encourage Nigerian youths to register and vote en-masse in the 2023 General Elections.
The 18 Initial Advocates of the GoNigeria Movement are drawn from all 6 geopolitical zones (3 from each zone). They are Atedo Peterside (Convener), Aisha Yesufu, Nuruddeen Lemu, Dike Chukwumerije, Folarin Falana (Falz), Bishop Matthew Hassan-Kukah, Arunma Oteh, Hamzat Lawal, Tomiwa Aladekomo, Osita Chidoka, Dr. Tony Rapu, ‘Yemi Adamolekun, Muhammad Ali Pate, HH Muhammad Sanusi II, Dr. Salamatu Hussaini Suleiman, Kashim Ibrahim-Imam, Ayisha Osori, and Ibrahim Dahiru Waziri.
