Origin Tech Group recently served as a major sponsor of the 2-Day Stakeholder Workshop dedicated to the Draft Review of the National Agricultural Mechanisation Policy. Organised in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, the workshop convened influential leaders from government and other stakeholders within the public sector sphere, the private sector, and development organisations to help shape the future of agricultural mechanisation in Nigeria.

As a frontline leader in the innovation-driven space in Nigeria’s Agri-tech landscape, Origin Tech Group is committed to transforming agricultural productivity and sustainability through advanced mechanisation. One of its flagship programs, the Greener Hope Large Scale Mechanisation Programme (GHAPP), represents a public-private partnership with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security and the Ministry of Water Resources and Sanitation. At the workshop, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, Mr. Temitope Fashidemi, emphasised the Federal government’s commitment to empowering small-holder farmers through mechanisation, underscoring the “Renewed Hope” Agenda, a vision championed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR to boost local manufacturing and support regional equipment producers.

The Permanent Secretary’s remarks were echoed by Dr. Musa Olasupo, Director of Programmes for the Greener Hope Mechanisation Programme (GHAPP), who emphasised the importance of partnerships in scaling up local production of agricultural machinery. “Through collaborations with institutions and universities, we can develop locally fabricated prototypes, creating sustainable solutions that support smallholder farmers across Nigeria,”

Youth representative in agribusiness, Jerry Tobi, expressed appreciation for the workshop’s focus on mechanisation. “Mechanised farming is key to boosting productivity,” he said. “This policy is a positive step toward increased investment in the mechanisation sector, and it’s inspiring to see youth representation in these discussions.”
