The Anambra State Executive Council (ANSEC) has named the new Government House Mini City the “Light House Awka,” in keeping with Anambra State’s slogan, “Light of the Nation.”
This was the outcome of the decision made during the 10th ANSEC meeting and the third to be held in the new government house, on Monday, 2nd June 2025.
According to the State’s Commissioner for Information, Law Mefor, the Light House Awka comprises the newly built Government House and Lodge, the building of the Deputy Governor, the Governor’s Office, 24 other structures, a world-class amphitheatre, and an auditorium, with an eight-lane dualised road, named Emeka Anyaoku Boulevard, leading to the mini-city.
Recently, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu commended Governor Charles Soludo for his impeccable and incredible leadership qualities, which have been demonstrated through his infrastructure and transformation of Anambra, including the new government house.
The 34-year jinx broken by Governor Soludo for building the new government house mini-city was also applauded by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who was overwhelmed with what he saw, saying, “Anambra is rising and we are ready to work with you.”
President Tinubu asserted that the innate ability to perform wonderfully is with Governor Soludo, a reason why he holds him in high esteem. “Mr. Solution,” he remarked.
The President further averred that Soludo’s excellent performance in governance has shown he is progressive, that despite the party differences, he likes achievers like him, and the relationship that exists between them.
