Anambra State Executive Council (ANSEC), during its 15th meeting held at the Light House, approved the Awka City Park Project on 21st July 2025.
The park project is designed to provide environmental, aesthetic, and recreational benefits to the state capital, along with social, health, and economic benefits, with work set to commence immediately.
Recently, the Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, and members of ANSEC launched the opening of the sprawling Solution Fun City, considered the largest in Africa, and it includes a Family Fun Centre, an Amusement Park, a Water Park, and an International Country Club, which serves the leisure needs of all demographics.
According to the State’s Commissioner for Information, Law Mefor, the facility is part of Governor Soludo’s transformation drive in making Anambra a place where people can play, enjoy, and relax.
Described as unparalleled, Governor Soludo said, “This is a fun city like no other; there are no comparable facilities in the world,” adding that Anambra would now be seen as a destination hub rather than merely a departure lounge.
The governor also revealed plans to hold large-scale events every three months, with the next celebration already in the works. He stated that the current complex is only the beginning of a larger vision to build the largest fun city in the world in Anambra State.
Overwhelmed with what he saw during the commissioning of the facility, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu said, “Anambra is rising and we are ready to work with you.”
The Council also, at its 8th meeting, set in motion processes for the launch of the Solution Country Club at Awka, a vital component of the recently commissioned Solution Fun City, for social activities and leisure.
The Country Club would serve as more than just a venue for recreation and socializing, but would foster social integration among the people of Anambra, preserve traditions, and contribute economically and culturally to the state.
Governor Soludo’s transformation of vital sectors of the state’s economy is evident in the areas of education, health, where he was recognized as the most performing governor in primary healthcare in the Southeast region and overall, nationally, transportation, innovation, human capital development, security, and agriculture, among others.
